Lat Rows

In this video I'm doing some dumbbell lat pulls. As you watch this,
you may be asking why my form looks a little lazy and off. Well, let me
explain:

Most people, when they perform this exercise, go in a
straight up and down motion as they lay on the bench with one knee and
chest parallel to said bench.

HOWEVER. I believe that this does
not fully utilize the functional movement of the muscles in the back. If
you try to use your back muscles in any kind of movement, you'll start
to see that they do not flex and pull in the same line of drive / plane
that you get when simply going straight up and down.

The back
muscles in my estimation perform an out to in motion (in towards your
spine). So, to account for this I try to use my elbow to guide an out to
in (towards my spine) motion to fully engage the full movement of the
back whilst also fully pumping the muscle. The jerking motion you see at
the end range of motion is to get as much of that pump as possible.

Also, I try to situate my body so that the load of the weight pulls
muscles from underneath my shoulder blade, and again follow from under
my shoulder blade with the same out to in motion to get full engagement
from my back and no help from my rear deltoids.

For the first
set I also like to go heavy for some stimulation, and really try to
hammer in solid form with lighter weight on a drop set (this is the case
with most of my exercises).

Try this out, let me know what you think. Like the video and subscribe and I'll love you forever!!!!!!
